about c.a.b

The Brentwood Citizens Advice Bureau is a long-standing member of the National Association of Citizens Advice, membership No. 67/009 and is an independent voluntary organisation and our Company Registration No. is 4670256.

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice and by influencing policymakers.  Every Citizens Advice Bureau is a registered charity (Charity No: 1098171) reliant on trained volunteers and funds to provide these vital services for local communities.

The Aims and Principals of the Service are:

"To ensure that individuals do not suffer through a lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities or of the services available to them through an inability to express their needs effectively".

And equally...

"To exercise a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally".

For the most part, this service is provided by a volunteer workforce supported by professional staff, who have the additional responsibility of generating income and providing development opportunities at all levels.

Brentwood CAB subscribes fully with the above-mentioned objectives and applies them to the work carried out within Brentwood and the surrounding Villages in its Parishes.
