What We Do

None of us, whoever we are, ever know when we will be in need of the kind of advice and practical help the CAB offers.

We ask you to please consider ways in which you, as a member of this community, can help this vitally important organisation.

  • Welfare benefits
  • Debts / debt management
  • Employment
  • Housing / environment
  • Relationships / matrimonial
  • Consumer issues
  • Child support
  • Health
  • Immigration
  • Education
  • Legal
How we do it
Our advice is:
FREE - CONFIDENTIAL - IMPARTIAL

We operate a drop-in service where a trained Adviser will discuss your problems or issues with you.

Where appropriate, clients can be referred to one of our specialist advisers, or to an outside agency qualified to help on a particular problem.

The Citizens Advice association ensures that we are supplied with up-to-date information on all the latest legislation etc., and also checks on our quality of service.

Can you help?

... by making a donation.

If you are a taxpayer, your donation could come under the "Gift Aid" scheme.

This is a government-backed scheme, which enables registered charities to reclaim tax of 28p for each pound you donate.

If you are a non-taxpayer we will, of course still be grateful for any donation you can make.

Friends of CAB

We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our small fundraising committee "Friends of CAB" and assist with fundraising projects large or small.

"Friends" give their time and energy to support our Bureau by organising enjoyable fundraising events.

If you would like to be a Friend or make a donation, please contact us on 01277 222888 or use the contact form on this website.

We need 'Business'

We need the help and support of the business community as well.We hold an A.G.M. and 2 Community Forum meetings per year to which local businesses are invited. If you would like to come along, do please contact us.

That can be done by helping us sponsor equipment or furniture or IT equipment, or even a whole room, or cash.
